The Jackson Power Gallery is a unique venue made possible through the generosity of Edmonton business, Jackson Power. The multi-purpose space is situated on the second floor at 9758 – 60 Avenue in Edmonton and is made available to a range of non-profit organizations supported by the business.

The purpose of the art gallery is to offer a unique, alternative venue for artists and curators interested in exhibiting work and/or collaborating in ways that might not be possible elsewhere.  The space has been in operation since spring 2013. As part of a unique Edmonton partnership the gallery hosts 2 exhibits each year organized by the Works International Visual Arts Society as part of its annual programming.

Jackson Power Submission Guidelines
The Jackson Power Gallery is situated on the second floor of the premises of Jackson Power in Edmonton at 9744 – 60 Avenue in Edmonton. The space is divided into five different sized rooms all of which have gallery lighting installed.  There is an additional space available for an opening reception. The purpose of the gallery is to offer an alternative venue for artists and curators interested in exhibiting work and/or collaborating in ways that might not be possible elsewhere.  Submissions are welcome from visual artists of all disciplines.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION & SUBMISSION GUIDELINES CAREFULLY Gallery Information

  • The gallery space is provided through the generosity of Jackson Power and is run on a voluntary basis.  Unfortunately there are  no artists’  fees available at this time, however, Jackson Power will cover the cost of an opening reception.
  • Due to a number of factors only one or two exhibitions each year may be accepted.
  • Exhibitions typically run for a duration of 2-3 weeks.
  • The gallery is only open during regular business hours during the week (typically 10-4.30). Some weekend opening can be arranged in consultation with staff.  In addition the gallery will be open for one evening opening reception.
  • Jackson Power is NOT responsible for any loss or damage to artwork or any other articles on site
  •  Artists are responsible for transportation, installation and removal of all work.
  •  Artists are responsible for patching and repair of walls, etc., and  are expected to leave the gallery space as they found it.
  • Artists are responsible for all promotional activities in consultation with Jackson Power staff.
  • Artists must provide at least one gallery attendant to be present at all times when the gallery is open.

Submission Guidelines Proposals may be independently juried and will be accepted based on:

  • compatibility with the gallery space and the aim of the gallery outlined above
  • the quality of the proposal and the work submitted
  • availability of the gallery

Please submit the following:

  • An exhibition proposal of no more than 500 words outlining the exhibition you are planning
  • A maximum of 10 jpeg images (maximum size 500 KB each image) representative of the work to be exhibited
  • Corresponding image list with titles, medium, dimensions.
  • CV
  • Additional support material
  • SAE for return of materials

Jackson Power Submissions

Submissions can be made online (preferred) or mailed . If for any reason you submit the entry form more than once, only the most recent form will be retained in our system. All previous forms will be deleted.

  • In the event that the proposed artworks have not yet been produced, please provide a detailed description of the intent in addition to support material featuring past work (see Additional Support Materials below).
  • All artists must upload a current CV in pdf or word format.
    Accepted file types: jpg, pdf, doc, docx, txt.
  • Please include an artist statement relevant to the work to be exhibited. Only pdf, doc, docx, rtf, or txt files will be accepted, and must be under 1 MB.
    Accepted file types: pdf, doc, docx, rtf, jpg.
  • Artists must submit 5 to 10 JPG images up to a maximum file size of 1 MB each) representative of the work to be exhibited. FILE NAMING: All entry files (regardless of type or media) must be named with artist's last name (underscore) first name, followed by the entry number as noted on the entry form as well as the title of the work (e.g., John_Henry_1_MyTitle.jpg). Images must be oriented properly (i.e. top of image is top of artwork) and should not include text info or borders not part of the actual work.
